4. The Vijnanamaya Kosha — the Wisdom Sheath

Known as the Vijnanamaya Kosha, the wisdom stimulates an awareness that comes from within, including intuition and conscience. This layer carries a deeper sense of internal knowledge, away from the feelings and thoughts. Which is why in Yoga, certain practices help to lower the rumbles of the Manomaya Kosha (mental sheath) so that we can listen to things like our intuition and let it lead us to the truth.

5. The Anandamaya Kosha — the Bliss Sheath

This is the Anandamaya Kosha. It is the deepest layer of all the layers and therefore more oblivious to the practitioner than the others. Connection with the bliss sheath therefore requires a thorough Yoga practice, which is well worth the effort. This is because here, you find “bliss” in the form of freedom and fulfillment in whatever you find out about yourself at the end of the day.
